Let's introduce you to Blend Culinary Foundation
Purpose on every Plate
Behind every great meal at Alfred Works is something deeper: a belief that food can change lives. That’s where Blend Culinary Foundation (BCF) comes in. Our not-for-profit heartbeat of Blend Family and the driving force behind our purpose-led work.
As a Registered Community Interest (CIC), BCF turns intention into impact. We champion independent talent, support food access for those that need it, and help build stronger, more inclusive communities.
From tackling food poverty and promoting food education, to celebrating culture through cuisines, everything we do is rooted in making a difference, plate by plate.
BCF is not only a Cookery School with hands-on cooking sessions, it provides a home for local groups to cook together, for corporate volunteer days, and community events that bring people together, while hosting fun workshops and events, such as Cooking and Cocktails. Our initiatives support food banks and deepen connections in the places we call home.
Our new cookery school is nestled within Alfred Works, while another is located in our Sheffield space, Cambridge Street Collective.

Supporting Our Community
Our mission is simple: use food as a force for good.
From tackling food poverty and promoting food education to celebrating culture through cuisines, everything we do is rooted in making a difference, plate by plate.
BCF does hands-on cooking sessions with local groups, corporate volunteer days, and community events that bring people together, while hosting fun workshops and events, such as Cooking and Cocktails. Our initiatives support food banks and deepen connections in the places we call home.
Plans are underway to have another cookery school nestled within Alfred Works, while another is located in our Sheffield space, Cambridge Street Collective.

Introducing Our Social Cooking Classes
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned home cook, our hands-on Cooking Classes are for you. Designed to be fun, informative, and inspiring, everyone is welcome!
Within our professional kitchen setting, we keep things informal and friendly. These are no ordinary Cooking Classes – these are classes that focus on learning new skills, creating amazing food and memorable experiences. You can even make new friends over a cocktail or two.
Led by expert chefs, each class is an opportunity to share stories, explore global cuisines, and build confidence in the kitchen. Join us and discover the joy of cooking together!
And remember, all profits from our classes and events go to support our mission. Whether paying for freshly cooked meals that we supply to our local food bank or supporting cooking classes and food education for community groups and specialised groups for children and adults, you will be making a difference.
Based in our purpose-built kitchens on the 1st floor of Cambridge Street Collective in Sheffield and on the ground floor of Alfred Works in Birmingham, we are a modern space that runs a wide array of cooking classes. From our now-infamous Cooking & Cocktails (our Friday night social class) to our Bottomless Brunch classes on a Saturday afternoon, we have something for everyone.
Take a look, your next culinary adventure awaits…
