First of all, how to get here…
Whether you’re coming in on two wheels or your own two feet, Alfred Works is easy to find and easier to navigate. We are on Google and there is a map below with more instructions and details of the the nearest parking places and pubic transport.
When you arrive, enjoy vibrant, diverse dishes, soak up the welcoming atmosphere, and make the most of your visit. It’s important to us that you feel welcome and relaxed in our space. We’re an informal, family-friendly space that is predominantly walk-in only – you’ll always find a space just for you.
With such an ample space and so many cuisines to choose from, we can help you plan by following the simple steps below.

Getting here
Walking? Simple stroll straight for 10 mins down from the iconic Bullring. Cycling? Sorted. You’ll find bike rails nearby.
Prefer public transport? We’ve got you covered. There’s a bus stop just a 5-minute walk away, and there are two train stations nearby. Just a 9-minute walk to Moor Street Station, and a 13-minute walk to Birmingham New Street Station.
Travelling by car? While we don’t have on-site parking, there are a few car parks close by.
We are located inside the courtyard of The Custard Factory, just off Gibb St. We can also be accessed via Floodgate Street using the small bridge entrance over the River.
P.S. Floodgate Street is where you will find Alfresco at Alfred Works, our sports bar and outdoor social space.

Come hungry and ready to explore. We’ve got 15 independent kitchens waiting for you. From bao to burgers, noodles to nachos, the hardest part is choosing where to start. So, here’s how it works:
Explore
Wander, browse, soak up the buzz. Each kitchen has its own story, and menu. Speak to our Food Partners to find out more. See what takes your fancy.
Grab a drink
Take a look at our menu or simply check out what’s on the bar, then get started by ordering drinks with our bar team. There are roaming members of the bar team at busy times, so watch out for them; they can bring a drink to your table.
Order
Found your dish? Order at the counter and grab a buzzer. It’ll ping when food’s ready. Go back to your table and relax until that buzzer tells you that your food is ready. Then collect your food and enjoy!
Skip the Queue
Feeling fancy? Why not scan the QR code on your table and simply order from your phone using our web-based app service (no need to download anything) and then wait for the message to say your next taste sensation is ready.
Why Self Service?
Self-service gives you total flexibility and the ability to mix and match across kitchens. You’re in charge of your meal. You can all have what suits you to match your appetite too.
